Sarah J. Bailey

Sarah J. Bailey, Ed.S, Interim Superintendent of the Hollandale School District, is a proven leader with a track record of success in the field of education. During her 22 years in the field, she served as a teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, Leadership and School Improvement Coach, School Evaluator, and District Level Administrator. Over the past six years, she served as Chief of Academics, Executive Director of Administrative Services (Federal Programs, Finance, Assessment, and Accountability), Executive Director of Innovation & Transformation, and Assistant Superintendent (Humphreys County) for the Mississippi Achievement School District – which governed Humphreys County School District and Yazoo City Municipal School District.

She is passionate about school innovation and providing quality learning experiences to all students. Ms. Bailey spent most of her career in critical shortage areas throughout the rural Mississippi Delta and believes all students deserve a quality educational experience regardless of the location or school context. She is a PROUD 1999 graduate of Simmons High School and completed her post-secondary studies at The University of Mississippi. Ms. Bailey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Secondary Mathematics Education, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Secondary Mathematics Education, and an Education Specialist in Educational Leadership.

Ms. Bailey has a son Cameron L. Bailey, Sr. and a daughter in-law Alexus who are both members of the United States Armed Services. She also has three grandchildren Alexander (age 9), Delilah (age 8 ), and Cameron Jr. (age 4). She believes that her G.R.I.T., resolve, and perseverance are a result of the expectations, support, and encouragement set forth by her late father Frank Jr., her mother Pearlie, and her brothers Dewayne, Frank, and Fredrick.

She is proud to say that the education she received in the Hollandale School District prepared her to impact the educational outcomes of students from Mississippi all the way to the Canadian border – a true testament of the importance of sound educational systems. She believes that “Our Children Are Depending On Us, The Educators, To Get It Right… Be A Child’s Chief Advocate Every Day!”
